FMs from nine NATO countries, in Bucharest, to meet President Iohannis

Foreign ministers from nine allied countries of the Eastern Flank, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary will be in Romania on Tuesday to attend the “Bucharest Format” meeting. They will be also welcomed by President Klaus Iohannis.

The agenda includes talks on the implementation stage of the decisions Okayed during the NATO Summit held in Warsaw in July, as well as topics related to the security issue in the region, reads a Presidential Administration press release.

“The fact that Romania is hosting this meeting represents a reconfirmation of our country’s role within NATO and at regional level,” further says the release.

The “Bucharest Format” conference was agreed by the summit held in Bucharest on November 4, 2015, at the initiative of the Romanian and Polish Presidents, Klaus Iohannis and Andrzej Duda.
