Former Liberal chairwoman Alina Gorghiu to give up Romanian Parliament

Former PNL chairwoman Alina Gorghiu, senator of Timis, will not run for a new MP seat at the next general elections in Romania, but eyes a seat in the European Parliament on behalf of the National Liberal Party. The PNL branch of Timis has given her green light to run for the European elections.

Chairman of PNL Timis, Nicolae Robu, has said on Friday that Alina Gorghiu had announced her intention to run in the EP elections next year.

Alina Gorghiu has a mandate of senator of Timis. The elections for the European Parliament are due in May 2019.

Another former PNL chairman, Crin Antonescu announced three days ago he had filed the documents to join the PNL list for the European Parliamentary elections to be held next year.
