Former PM Ciolos says he was naive not to run in election last year
Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos says he kind of regrets the last year’s decision, when he announced he would not run in parliamentary elections, because of his previous promise in this regard.
“I have to admit that last year, when I said I would not run – because I had promised at the beginning of my mandate not to do so – I did not believe that, following democratic election, I will live the day when those winning the election will behave just like a landlord on his estate.
They want to whip in the left and in the right and nothing will escape, economy, justice, the press, they want to reign not to serve,” Dacian Ciolos wrote on Facebook.
He admits he was naive, but does not lose hope.
“I dare believe that Romanians will not their dignity blown away for wage raises which, we can see by every passing day, it is not real due to tax increases, loans’ interest, the utilities’ prices increase,” Ciolos concluded.
