Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos drawn the attention on Liviu Dragnea inconsistency regarding decisions he criticized last year to the Ciolos cabinet, however now they are implemented without reserves.
Ciolos has posted on his Facebook page the official letter sent to him by PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea, digi24.ro informs.
“Some political leaders are surprisingly gifted when it comes to anticipation. This is what Mr. Dragnea wrote on September 8, 2016. Using PSD’s same measurement unit, it’s high time that the incumbent Premier to be called in parliament to explain what he is going to decide about pensions, the child-raising allowances, taxes and about the state budget in general. Especially, to explain why the PSD-ALDE coalition lied unscrupulously last year, when it promised and approved in parliament issues that cannot be implemented. First of all it’s their duty to all the people who voted for them,” Ciolos wrote on Facebook.
Liviu Dragnea’s letter:
“Kind attention Mr. Dacian Ciolos
Prime Minister of Romania
Mr. Prime Minister,
Several alarming signs have appeared in the public space lately regarding the Government intention to make some worrying decisions, such as the capping of child-raising allowances, increasing the taxes on independent activities, by radically amending the Tax Code. I want to put it very clearly that I am categorically against such measures, which I believe are extremely damaging and contrary to the decisions needed to be implemented to relaunch the economic activity in Romania.
Furthermore, there is an even more worrying question than the issues mentioned above: is the Government’s intention based on the worsening of economic indicators in our country? Considering all these, I kindly ask you to present to the joint plenum of the two chambers of parliament a report on the real situation the country is facing, including issues such as tax collection, budget deficit, the current account deficit, the trade deficit and the estimated economic growth the budgetary execution is based upon.
Nevertheless, I believe we need to have your clear position regarding the Government’s intentions, as the contradictory information coming from the cabinet members, directly or indirectly, lead to confusion and concern for the investors, employees and the rest of the citizens.
Chairman of the Social-Democratic Party”
