George Simion: “In a month we will put Călin Georgescu back in charge of Romania”

AUR presidential candidate George Simion said in an interview with former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon on Friday that he would “win the second round in style” in Romania and within a month he would “put Călin Georgescu back in charge of the country”.

George Simion claims that he will win the second round of the presidential election with a crushing difference in score over his opponent, Nicușor Dan.

“We are winning in style in Romania in the second round. It will be a crushing victory. I am currently in Paris, where I met with Romanians here. Earlier I was in Brussels. I also met with the Romanian diaspora. Yesterday I met with Matteo Salvini, Meloni and our Romanians living in Italy. On Tuesday I supported the Polish candidate, because on Sunday we also have elections in Poland for the position of president. So, it should be a crushing victory, unless they do something with the software, unless they steal two million ballots. It will be very difficult, because the difference is big, so we assume that they will not steal. And we hope that we will return to democracy, to constitutional order,” he said, in the podcast of the American Steve Bannon.

“Things are shaping up well. We have received messages of support from Marine Le Pen and all the leaders you mentioned. This is the first time we are collaborating with all the conservatives, sovereignists and patriots in Europe. Viktor Orban also sent a message, which is very important for us, given the historical adversity between Romanians and Hungarians,” he adds.

The head of AUR claims that after winning the elections, within a month, he will put Călin Georgescu in charge of the country.

“If everything goes well, within a month we will put Călin Georgescu, the one who won the first elections, back in charge of Romania and we will return to the voice of the people,” says the head of AUR.

Simion slams mass media again

George Simion again accuses the press of manipulation. “Everything they are trying to do through the mainstream media, all the attacks, all the lies they are spreading today are not reaching the Romanian public. Romanian citizens continue to support us, they understand that it is not possible for a civilized country to cancel the elections. So, we are now thinking about what else they can invent to stop the will of the people. They eliminated Călin. He won the first round with 22%, and I won last Sunday with 41% in the first round. We expect a big difference, 60% to 40%, this Sunday, when the votes will be counted, because in the exit polls it will be 50-50”, claims Simion.
