German ambassador to Romania, Werner Hans Lauk announced he would retire from activity and would leave Romania on December 30.
The German ambassador made the announcement during a conference organized by the German Embassy and Deutsche Welle on Wednesday, B1TV reports.
Lauk told the conference that he is retiring after 40 years of work as a German diplomat, with the last 3 years and half spent as ambassador to Romania. He thanked his collaborators in Romania.
“After three years and a half in your country and about 40 years of activity in the German diplomacy I will retire at the end of this year. I will leave Romania on December 30. I take this opportunity to say goodbye to you, but also to thank you all for collaboration, for the correct manner in our interaction and for making our activity easier during your activity that I appreciate very much,” the German ambassador stated.
Germany is to appoint a new ambassador in Bucharest in the upcoming period.
