Attorney Radu Cătălin Dancu was appointed, by Government decision, as Consul General of Romania in New York, spokeswoman Alina Petrescu has announced on Wednesday.

“A decision was passed on the appointment of a new Consul General of Romania in New York. The name of the Romanian Consul General in New York is Radu Catalin Dancu,” Petrescu said in a press conference held after the government sitting, antena3.ro informs.

She added that the former Consul General in New York, Ioana Gabriela Costache, was appointed Consul General in Montreal, where the office was vacant for a few months.

“The interest in the Canadian area has grown considerably in the context of waiving the visas for Romanians,” Alina Petrescu said.
