Gov’t sets date of local elections

The Government has set the date of the local elections in Wednesday’s sitting. The ballot for local elections was scheduled for June 5th.

“Today we’ll adopt a package of government measures to prepare local elections and set the date of the local elections,” PM Cioloș told ministers at the beginning of the Gov’t sitting.

The electoral campaign for local elections should kick off on May 6th and the order number of the ballot papers is to be set by a draw on May 7th .

The number of the constituencies, polling stations and their HQs must be given to the public on May 6th  at the latest.

Voters can go to the polls to elect their local representatives on June 5th, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
