Gov’t takes two-week summer recess

PM Victor Ponta on Wednesday informed that the Government would break up for the holidays in the first two weeks of August. “I thank VP Oprea and the other members of the Government for doing their job very well during my three-week absence. My message is very clear and I want that, until we take a short recess on August 1, we should go ahead full steam and do our job regarding governmental duties. And even if we have these two weeks of recess, we should get things ready for the end of August and for the autumn parliamentary session,” the premier stated.

PM Ponta has been admitted to hospital in Turkey during June 12-July 8 where he underwent a left knee surgery. Ponta ordered that vice-premier Gabriel Oprea should replace him at the head of the Government. He resumed prime minister duties as of July 9.
