The Social Democrat chairman Liviu Dragnea announced that the Government’s activity will be weekly reviewed. Dragnea says he agreed with PM Mihai Tudose that the premier attends the ruling coalition meeting every Monday to present the Cabinet’s weekly activity report.
Dragnea explained that the review will be “among colleagues”, and not “in the inquisition system”.
“On Monday there will the first important meeting with the Government that we have been expecting for 6 months, a well organized, ordered premier is to present the weekly activity report, saying what he will do the next week and how he is going to approach discussions with the European Commission President, what is the support he needs from the ruling coalition (…) I have repeatedly said, only that everyone would say on TV what he wanted. It’s not the party that makes the evaluation, the Government does. And Mihai Tudose is a man that I appreciate very much, who works very much (…) We are not like a committee, like inquisitors or an exam committee where we stay bespectacled (…), we are just colleagues,” Dragnea pointed out.
He added that the meetings with the ruling coalition are necessary, as they won the elections together.
“(…) This new governmental team has made huge efforts, has stayed from morning to night, there was a real tour de force of the PM and of the three deputy PMs, they have met more than half of the ministers. We have already established 45 actions, part of them have been enforced, the others will follow (…) The decision to replace the Government was a very good one and gives us hope that the ruling act will recover,” the PSD chairman said.
