How many Romanians living abroad voted by mail?

About 4,500 Romanians voted by mail ahead parliamentary elections due on Sunday, December 11. The Romanian Post informed on Friday that it had received 4,561 envelopes representing the votes of the Romanians from Diaspora registered to the Online Register Office. The votes have been delivered to the Electoral Bureau.

The top five of the countries where post requests for the mail vote went is: Spain (2,794 votes), Italy (1,228 votes), Republic of Moldova (618) and UK (594).

The top of the first five countries where from envelopes with votes returned to Romania and have been sent to the electoral bureau is: Spain (714), Germany (533), UK (515), France (469) and Republic of Moldova (414).

The vote by nail procedure ran during October 28-December 8. The Romanian Post sent all papers needed for the vote by mail to all 8,889 Romanians in 55 countries recorded in the Online Electoral Register. Nine airlines and 55 post operators have been involved in delivering the ballot papers abroad.
