Hungarian PM Viktor Orban has attended a commemorative show in Timisoara to marl 30 years since the 1989 Revolution, stating that three decades ago many people didn’t believe that overthrowing the communist rule is possible, as those 45 years of communism left many repercussions in the Central and Eastern countries.

This system was like a honey whip, based on lies and born in sin (…) Every of the former socialist countries put a spike in the communism’s coffin, we knew the dictatorship will eventually collapse (…) Four decades and a half of communism cannot end without repercussions. There is no political change when a mandrake field cannot turn into a blooming orchard in one day. We are turning on the light, one more time, in the city that gave light to Europe for the first time. Happy anniversary, Timisoara!,” Viktor Orban said in his speech.

He added that the Magyars are ready, together with Romanians, to build a new Central Europe that should be one of the most competitive areas in the world.
