Iasi Mayor, PSD’s Mihai Chirica, calls for Minister Iordache’s resignation, on Dragnea to correct the mistakes made
Iasi city Mayor Mihai Chirica, leader of PSD Iasi organization, has stated on Thursday, during a press conference, he requests the abrogation of emergency ordinance 13/2017 issued on Tuesday regarding the amending of the criminal codes, the resignation of Justice Minister Florin Iordache and calls on PSD leader Liviu Dragnea to correct the mistakes made.
Chirica said the Justice Minister is “the only one responsible for the chaos in the past few days. We need responsible people, people to look with dignity in the eyes of Romanians.”
He called for public debates on the criminal codes.
“I suggest PM Grindeanu and leader Liviu Dragnea two things: to urgently repeal GEO 13/2017 and to file a draft bill to the parliament for public debate, to consult the specialists and the civil society,” Chirica said.
Asked if the PM should leave the government, Chirica said: “I don’t believe Mr. Grindeanu should leave the governance, we shouldn’t get to early elections and we shouldn’t manipulate the people.”
Iasi Mayor also requests Liviu Dragnea to “correct the mistakes made. He is surrounded by wrong people.”
He reproaches the PSD leader that he didn’t knew to get surrounded with competent people and to take account of appropriate advice and requests him to correct the mistakes. “He is a powerful man who managed to organize in an exemplary way, he was able to win the elections in a professional manner. I reproach him because he does not know to choose his people, to appoint competent people around him and does not know to take into account the advice of the people who matter. I ask him to correct the mistakes, he has the power and responsibility to do so,” Chirica said, adding that he personally does not want to lead PSD.
Asked if other PSD leaders share these ideas, Chirica said yes, however he refused to provide names.
