IMAS survey on voting intentions reveals close races ahead. PSD and PNL almost neck and neck

An IMAS survey conducted upon Europa FM request and released on Thursday reveals the political preferences in January.

If general elections take place next Sunday, PSD would get 17.4%, PNL – 15.2%, ALDE – 9.2%, USR – 7.6%, PLUS – 6.1%, Pro Romania – 5.6%, UDMR and PMP – 3% and 2.6% respectively. 23% don’t know whom to vote for or do not want to answer.

Regarding the race for Presidency, Klaus Iohannis would get 34.9% of votes, down by 0.5% against the IMAS survey in December. He is followed by Calin Popescu Tariceanu – 15.4%, Victor Ponta -13.2%, Dacian Ciolos – 10.9% and Liviu Dragnea – 6%.

For the European elections PSD is first with 17.4%, followed by PNL – 16.5%, USR – 9.3% and ALDE – 9.1%. 9.2% of respondents are undecided.

The survey was conducted during January 11-30 by IMAS,

The interviews were conducted by phone using the Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) method. The sample is probabilistic, multi-layered, with random extraction of the person: – the respondents were randomly selected by the computer, by automatically generating telephone numbers; For this study 1,011 people aged 18 years and over were interviewed; the sampling error: +/- 3.1%.
