Starting from January 1, 2024, the gross amount of basic salaries/function salaries/position salaries/monthly placement allowances for personnel paid from public funds, according to the provisions of the current legislation, will be increased by 5% compared to the level granted for December 2023, as indicated in an Emergency Government Ordinance draft.
By derogation from the provisions of Article 13 paragraph (1) of Law no. 153/2017, with subsequent amendments and completions, starting from January 1, 2024, monthly allowances for public dignity functions and related functions, provided in Annex IX to Law no. 153/2017, with subsequent amendments and completions, will be increased by 5% compared to the level granted for December 2023, according to the document published by the National Youth and Sports Union.
According to the same document, the gross amount of basic salaries for teaching staff, auxiliary teaching staff, and non-teaching staff will be increased in two stages in 2024. Starting from January 1, 2024, with a percentage of 13% compared to the level granted for December 2023, and starting from August 1, 2024, with a percentage of 7% compared to the level granted for December 2023.
However, the emergency ordinance adopted during the strike earlier this summer had provided for a salary increase of 40% for teachers.
Additionally, next year, bonuses will remain at the level of December 2023, and overtime will be compensated only with corresponding time off.
