USR chairman, Dan Barna, has been designated the candidate of the USR-PLUS Alliance 2020 to run in the presidential election due this November. PLUS chairman, Dacian Ciolos, will be the alliance’s candidate for the prime minister position.
The two political parties have decided to run together in the presidential election this year, but also in the local and general elections in 2020.
USR and PLUS have been negotiating for several weeks on the approach at upcoming elections and they seem to have reached an agreement. The protocol on the candidatures is to be signed by the leaderships of the two parties, while the official vote is expected in about two weeks.
“After he was designated the USR candidate for Presidency, it was agreed that Dan Barna should be also the candidate of USR-PLUS, while the PM position nomination went to PLUS leader Dacian Ciolos,” USR deputy Cristian Seidler, told Digi24.
