Labour Minister: Gov’t to finalise the unitary pay law in early December
The government will complete the unitary public sector wage law and will be sent to Parliament in early December, Labour Minister Dragos Pislaru said for Antena 3 TV. He said the average gross salary will reach RON 4,000 by 2021, and the average wage increase will be of 29%, Pislaru said.
He said the largest increases, of up 60-70%, will be made for low-wage state employees.
Pislaru added that currently there are 1,217,000 employees in public administration, out of the total number of employees in Romania of 5,600,000.
We remind that the Dacian Ciolos government was criticized by the Social-democratic Party (PSD) for failing to promote a uniform pay bill of the public sector.
