The draft bill providing for students in schools to receive fresh fruit and vegetables was approved by the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday, after it was adopted last year by the Senate. The law will go for promulgation to President Klaus Iohannis.

The Chamber of Deputies voted a draft law on the ‘School Scheme for 2018-2019’, through which the county allocations for the purchase of fresh fruit and vegetables for students will be distributed to the local councils of the communes and towns.

The Chamber of Deputies is the decision-making body. The draft bill was voted by 250 MPs, 3 voted against and 5 have abstained.

The draft bill was voted by the Senate on November 28, 2018, as the first noticed chamber.
