Liberal MP Ludovic Orban has been voted as the Chamber of Deputies’ vice-president on Wednesday, thus replacing Liberal Dan Motreanu who resigned from this position about a month ago after being prosecuted for money laundering in a case of financing the 2008 electoral campaign.

Ludovic Orban was voted by 210 votes to 34.

He gets to this position after loosing internal competition in the party for a new mandate at the helm of PNL parliamentary group at the beginning of the parliamentary session. Eugen Nicolaescu outranked Orban by a single vote.
