Romanians wishing to travel to the US should not expect the lifting of visas earlier than in 2017, US Ambassador Hans Klemm said on Thursday, adding that there is a chance for the law to be amended after the US elections.
Hans Klemm said on Thursday in Arad that Romania meets all the conditions, except for the rejection rate, but the American Embassy in Bucharest strives to help those who want to travel to the US.
The ambassador said that nothing will happen this year.
Hans Klemm was on Thursday in Arad, where he donated 133 books – reference works, American literature, methodology of teaching English works and materials for learning English at various levels, as well as books for children – to the County Library ‘ADXenopol’, thus inaugurating the “American shelf”.
The US Ambassador visited the Spring Fair and met the local authorities.
