PNL candidate for mayor of Deva, Florin Oancea, has won the partial elections on Sunday, according to the parallel counting carried out by the liberals. In Deva there are 46 polling stations, and after counting the votes in 32 sections, the PNL candidate has got 6,999 votes (30.27%), on the second place being the PSD candidate, Petru Marginean, with 3,864 votes (17, 54%).

The independent candidate Marius Blendea was third, supported by Pro Romania.

According to PSD’s election campaign head, Danut Cristescu, the social-democrats have won the seats of mayor in the communes of Cervenia, Poeni and Salcia in Teleorman County.

Thus, elections were organised on Sunday in Deva, Hunedoara County, as well in the communes of Bocsig – Arad County, Nicseni – Botosani County, Calarasi – Cluj County, Pantelimon and Baraganu – Constanta County, Telesti – Gorj County, Bals – Iasi County, Birghis – Sibiu County, Dragoiesti – Suceava County, Cervenia, Poieni, Salcia – Teleorman County, Checea – Timis County, Osesti – Vaslui County, Vladesti – Valcea County.

In Deva there were nine candidates running for the office of mayor, of which 3 are independent. Ioan Ovidiu Popa (ALDE), Petru Marginean (PSD), Florin Nicolae Oancea (PNL), Ioan Vasile Iovan (PMP), Francisco Lucian Davidoni (USR) and Ioan Branduse (PSR). The independents are: Velu Adrian Caluser, Marius Vasile Blendea and Eduard Cristoi.

The office of mayor was vacated as Mircia Muntean (PSRO) was sentenced to six years in jail for abuse of office and for driving under influence on April 24, hotnews.ro informs.

The Government decided the date of November 5 for partial local elections in 16 localities.
