PM Cioloş to pay visit to Brussels next week to meet EC officials

Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will pay a visit to Brussels on February 15 -16, where he will meet senior representatives of the European Commission and of the European Parliament, and the topics will be migration, Schengen accession, energy union and energy security.
“The prime minister will meet the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, European Parliament President Martin Schulz, members of the European executive and will have a working lunch with President of European People’s Party Joseph Daul, as well as meetings with the leaders of political groups such as the European People’s Party and the Social Democratic Party in the EP. The premier will present the government’s priorities, the vision for economic development, the administrative reform programme, the way Romania intends to get involved in the current European debates and the country’s priorities in terms of the European semester,” the government release states.
The document shows that the discussions will also tackle migration, the energy union and energy security, Romania’s progress under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) as highlighted in the latest report of the European Commission and the prospects for our country’s accession to Schengen area.
Premier Dacian Cioloş will also meet MEPs representing Romania and with Romanian officials in senior positions with European institutions.
The delegation will include Foreign Minister Lazar Comanescu and the head of the PM’s Chancellery Dragos Tudorache.
