PM Dancila allegedly has promised EC First Vice-president Timmermans not to adopt GEO on Criminal Codes on Friday

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has promised to the European Commission First Vice-president Frans Timmermans not to adopt, during the Government sitting on Friday, any ordinance regarding the Criminal Codes.

Political sources have told ziare.com that the two officials have had a phone conversation, with the Romanian Premier making the promise. In exchange, the negotiations with the CVM exports in Brussels will continue.

The Government sitting is scheduled on Friday, as of 8.00h.

The USR-PLUS Alliance has urged President Klaus Iohannis on Thursday to attend the Government sitting in order to prevent the adoption of the ordinances.

Timmermans and Dancila have met four times in the past month and each time one of the topics was the justice.

The European Commission says an emergency ordinance on Crimianl Codes is unacceptable.
