Premier Viorica Dăncilă told the mayors gathered for a meeting of the Communes Association in Romania that by enforcing two of the programmes fathered by PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea they „have pulled the country out of mud”. The prime minister has also promised the village mayors that several investments will kick off on the disadvantaged areas.
„The success of the PNDL 1 programme, introduced by the Development minister at that time, Mr. Liviu Dragnea, gave us the certainty that it must be continued. Today we have the PNDL 2 programme that many communities are depending on. With the help of these programmes we have taken the country out of mud (…) As you know, over 705 of the financing of PNDL 1 and PNDL 2 has been directed to communes (…),” Dăncilă told the audience.
At the same time, the PM promised the commune mayors that more investments will start in the rural areas, as well as water and sewage systems.
„We have already entailed in the budget engagement credits worth RON 2 billion for 2019. We aim granting EUR 5,000 for each household and up to EUR 10,000 credit guarantees, if a households needs more money for a house or for farm equipment. We’ll continue to endorse the programmes managed by the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development this year as well, there are over 20 programmes worth over RON 3 billion, including the national transitional measures in stock breeding worth RON 1.2 billion and the excise duty on diesel worth RON 0.5 billion,” the premier said.
