PM Dancila in Brussels, to meet EC President Juncker
Prime Minister, Viorica Dancila, is paying a visit in Brussels, on Tuesday, to meet the European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker.
The visit is paid within the context of recent events, the revoking of DNA chief prosecutor, Laura Codruta Kovesi and the adoption by Parliament of the amendments to the Criminal Codes. The EC has warned that the fight against corruption should not be stopped, and that a new assessment of the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) could be carried out.
“Prime Minister Viorica Dancila will pay a visit to Brussels, during July 9-10, 2018, to meet the European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker. The Premier will also meet European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Cretu, the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan and the European Commissioner for budget and human resources, Gunther Oettinger,” a release issued by Victoria Palace reads.
The Government also informs that the visit aims at intensifying the dialogue with the European institutions, in view of taking over the EU Council Presidency by Romania in the first half of 2019.
