Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu said on Wednesday he known there are persons who would like to see “an earthquake taking place at Victoria Palace”, but conveyed the message that they will be the ones seeing the ground running under their feet.
“The government I lead is stable, has the PSD support, the support of the coalition and we mind our business in doing things for Romanians,” Grindeanu said, ziare.com reports.
The Premier has denied the rumours about a possible reshuffling.
“We have registered economic growth. I am monitoring the activity of ministers. I believe it’s too soon to talk about reshuffling. We haven’t noticed anyone – me, Dragnea Tariceanu – to talk about reshuffling. We have the statistical data about economic growth. Using a comparison with football, nobody replaces the players in 15th minute when you lead by 3-0,” PM Grindeanu said.
The rumours about reshuffling surfaced as there is talk about the cooling of the relationship between Grindeanu and PSD leader Liviu Dragnea. Last weekend Dragnea said he will have talks in June with the party on alleged government reshuffling, adding that the talks will not necessary end by concluding that reshuffling is absolutely necessary.
