PM meets US ambassador Klemm. Dragnea, Grindeanu skip scheduled public events
PM Grindeanu met US ambassador in Bucharest Hans Klemm on Wednesday at the ambassador’ request, Social Democrat deputy Marian Neacsu revealed.
However, he didn’t say where the meeting took place or what the two officials had discussed.
“It was a meeting scheduled for today, but long time ago, at least from what I knew,” Neacsu said, stressing that the premier “hasn’t been summoned” by the American diplomat.
However, neither PM Sorin Grindeanu nor PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea attended any public event scheduled for Wednesday morning where they had confirmed their presence.
Thus, SocDem chair should have attended the joint meeting of the Parliament Standing Bureaus, as speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, a meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m. to agree on the timetable for debating the 2017 draft budget.
At the same time, Dragnea and PM Grindeanu should have attended an event on the relation between state and the business environment, organized by a TV station at 10 a.m. Organizers had announced a day earlier that the two confirmed their presence and were among the speakers.
Before the Government sitting on Tuesday night, Liviu Dragnea and the Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu met in an office at the Parliament Palace.
