PM on 2 pc of GDP for defence: The allotment exists, the idea is spending it

PM Mihai Tudose stated on Wednesday that there is money to allot 2 pc of the GDP to the defence sector, but the idea is how to spend the money.
The new premier announced he would have a discussion with the representatives of the Defence Ministry after the CSAT decision to withdraw the Army endowment plan from the Tuesday sitting’s agenda.
“I cannot comment what the CSAT discussed yesterday, but there will be a discussion on this topic with the Defence Ministry this week or early next week,” Tudose told a press conference after a visit to the Ministry of Transports.
Questioned why those 2 pc of the GDP for Defence haven’t been allotted yet, the head of the Executive said: “The idea isn’t not to allot the money. The allotment does exist, the idea is to spend it. That was the key, spending those 2 per cent.”
