PM Viorica Dancila has embarked on a row with the members of the Opposition in Parliament during the PM Hour sitting on Monday afternoon. Annoyed by the Liberal deputy Florin Roman’s criticism, who accused her of reading from papers and following orders, PM Dancila said she’d rather read from „the notepaper” than say nonsense.
Retorting to another Liberal leader Raluca Turcan, Dancila told Turcan „she would even make a viper envious.” Turcan had told Dancila that she had turned the Romanians’ life into a nightmare, while reminding that she pledged not to introduce any tax when she had sworn into office.
„I’d rather have a notepaper and say correct things than speak freely and say nonsense. You spoke freely and said only nonsense. I was referring to you, Mr. Roman. You are too low to reply to you”, the premier said from the Parliament’s tribune.
PNL deputy Florin Roman told the plenary sitting of the Chamber of Deputies that rulers had refused to increase child allowances from March 1, had frozen the pension point, have increased mortgages and the Romanians’ bills.
„We want to address the de facto prime minister of Romania, Mr. Liviu Nicolae Dragnea who is running away now, but a time will come when you must stop running away. You stole children’s money by refusing to increase child allowances as of March 1, Mr. Dragnea, you cut the pensions by freezing the pension point starting January 1, you stole the pension of every pensioner, you increased bank mortgages and bills,” Roman said, adding that Dragnea is ready to steal the Pillar II pension and also eyed „the Romanians’ gold”.
Later on Monday night, the National Liberal Party has posted a collage video on its Facebook page with the previous grammar mistakes and blunders PM Dancila has made in the Government sitting and public statements, although she had her speeches written down. „She is finally admitting she is saying only nonsense if speaking freely, but the reality proves that she’s saying nonsense including if she’s reading from papers”, the Liberals noted.
Row with USR
In his turn, USR chairman Dan Barna told the Chamber’s plenary sitting that GEO 114 on tax on greed is enforcing some measures that are blowing up more strategic sectors for the economy: energy, banking sector, telecommunications. Barna said that, above all, the ordinance is jeopardizing the right of 6 million Romanians to pensions. “You’d better prove now, while there is still time, that you have a small leap of backbone, a minimum decency and repeal GEO 114,” Barna told Dancila
In retort, PM answered: “I have the feeling you want no more investments in Romania, you and your colleagues from the Opposition would like Romania to take the wrong path”.
