Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has met Chinese Ambassador, Feihong Xu, at Victoria Palace on Wednesday, with talks focusing on intensifying the political dialogue and on consolidating the economic cooperation.
“”The dialogue between the two officials was a constructive and warm one, both parties praising the dynamics of bilateral relations within the Partnership for Friendship and Cooperation between Romania and China and underlining the will to intensify the political dialogue and to consolidate the economic cooperation,” a Government release informs.
PM Dancila stressed Romania’s main objective, i.e. “to gradually counterbalance the bilateral trade balance, by increasing the Romanian exports to China.”
Among the issues discusses, was the cooperation in the field of transport and energy. Romania’s interest is to strengthen cooperation with China on projects of road infrastructure, maritime and air transport, PM Dancila said, thanking at the same time, for the interest showed in the development of the rail infrastructure in national perspective and for regional connectivity.
Cooperation in the nuclear energy was approached, as well as the need to support the people-to-people contacts and of bilateral tourism.
Both parties have expressed the availability to work together in the 16+1 cooperation format, in order to capitalize on the entire potential it represents, the release informs.
