Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă has met the Ambassador of Israel, Tamar Samash, on Friday, at Victoria Palace, with talks focusing on the symbolic importance of 2018 for the bilateral relations and the interest of the Romanian party to complete the project of the National Jewish History Museum and of the Holocaust in Romania.
A Government release informs that the importance of 2018 relies with the fact that Israel celebrates 70 years since establishment, we celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations and Romania celebrates the centenary of the Great Union.
The two officials have underlined the traditional friendly relations of the two countries and the excellent level of cooperation between Romania and Israel.
PM Dancila stressed that the deepening of the relation with Israel is a priority for Romania.
“Viorica Dancila mentioned that there is a decade since Romania’s constant commitment in regard to condemning anti-Semitism, in assuming the past and in condemning the Holocaust denial,” the Gov’t release reads.
The two officials laid stress on the need to diversify the economic and sectoral cooperation, in view of resuming the political dialogue at Government level, as well as on the possibility to conclude a bilateral partnership in the fields of new technologies, energy, sustainable agriculture, cyber security and entrepreneurship innovations in the high-tech fields.
The source also mentions that the cooperation in the defence field is regarded by both parties as very solid, with great potential for development.
