PM Viorica Dancila meets Italian Ambassador Mario Giungi, focus on investments

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila has met the Italian Ambassador in Bucharest, Mario Giungi, at Victoria Palace on Monday, with talks focusing on the Italian investments in Romania, in view of upgrading the infrastructure and to develop the energy, high technology and IT&C sectors.

The Government informs in a release that the two officials have assessed the excellent bilateral relations, founded on two decades of Strategic Partnership and one decade of Consolidated Strategic Partnership.

The release informs that the talks have stressed the high level of economic relations, as the bilateral trade in 2017 reached almost EUR 14 billion, the highest in the past ten years.

Referring to the large Romanian community in Italy, PM Dancila has hailed the close collaboration between the authorities on issues of labour and home affairs, in order to ensure proper living conditions for the Romanians.

European cooperation has also been tackled, as the two countries share common views in key issues regarding the future of the Union, on the Multi-annual financial framework post-2020, the cohesion policy, domestic market, industrial policy, cooperation in the fields of justice and home affairs, European policy on neighbourhood, EU enlargement, PESCO, as well as the strategic cooperation in the field of security.
