PNL and UNPR are to initiate a step to change Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu, said on Tuesday the Liberals’ co-chair Alina Gorghiu.
“It is an approach of common sense that PNL starts early this week. The group leader has already been mandated to collect the needed signatures,” Gorghiu said, adding that Tariceanu “does not meet by far the standards to act as Senate Speaker, hotnews.ro reports.
Gorghiu said it is a joint step taken with UNPR.
“This party (UNPR – our note) seems to try a new way to the image chapter. But every second UNPR spends besides PSD means its disappearance,” she said.
“It is an approach we never hide from, given that Mr. Tariceanu does not meet the standards the Senate Speaker should meet. He only brings along anti-justice messages and insults to his political adversaries,” the PNL co-chairman said.

PNL and UNPR playing a blameworthy political game and that is not good for the international image of Romania. Mr Calin Popescu Mr. Tariceanu meet the standards the Senate Speaker, but not the lower standards of the PNL and UNPR.
PNL and UNPR should focus themselves on the interests of the Romanian citizens!
