PNL asks for PM’s hearing in the Chamber of Deputies, to file motion against Interior minister
The National Liberal Party (PNL) has asked for PM Viorica Dancila’s hearing in the Chamber of Deputies, while announcing it will file a simple motion against Interior minister, Carmen Dan, in the case of the gendarmes’ intervention during the Diaspora protest on August 10, PNL chairman Ludovic Orban announced on Monday.
According to the Liberal leader, the premier is called to give answers regarding her subordinates’ responsibilities in this matter, following „the brutal intervention in repressing the August 10 meeting.”
„We decided to file simple motion against Interior minister Carmen Dan, asking for her dismissal following the disastrous manner in which she commanded the police force during the brutal intervention against a peaceful manifestation,” Orban argued.
He added the simple motion will be submitted in the first plenary sitting of the Parliament on Tuesday or Wednesday. At the same time, PNL and USR will file a request that an investigation parliamentary committee should be set up to probe into the Diaspora rally case.
A request to set up another committee on the African swine fever outbreak has been previously made.
