PNL candidate for District 4 claims Piedone will support him

Liberal candidate for District 4 mayor, Razvan Sava, said on Thursday that he will get support in local elections from Cristian Popescu Piedone, as PPUSL has no candidate in District 4, stating however that there is no agreement between the parties.

Razvan Sava said that “it happened several times” to meet in the street with Piedone. “There is no negotiation, no agreement between the parties,” Sava added.

The liberal said that in the coming days a survey will be conducted in District 4 to see what are his chances for June 5 local elections.

Bucharest Court has issued a final decision on Cristian Popescu Piedone’s candidacy for District 4 City Hall, saying he cannot run again.

However, the National Liberal Party seems not to share their candidate’s opinion. Liberal co-chair Vasile Blaga told Mediafax on Thursday that Piedone’s endorsing Razvan Sava’s candidature causes a prejudice to the party, as PNL is not making any alliances with anyone.

“It’s Mr. Sava’s particular stance, which I don’t like. We don’t team up with anybody, we make an alliance with the Bucharesters (…) We’ll support Razvan Sava, but we have to talk to him,” Blaga stated.
