The National Liberal Party (PNL) deputies have filed, in the Chamber of Deputies plenum, a simple motion on education entitled ‘Educate Romania, do not PSDize it!’ calling for Minister Valentin Popa’s (photo) dismissal. The announcement was made by PNL deluties’ leader, Raluca Turcan.

“The motion comes as a reply to the indifference related to the Romanian tuition. There are at least two issues that are of concern for all employees in education: 1. Delays in wage payment and 2. Lack of money, which could lead to resignations, mergers and to close down schools,” the motion reads.

The PNL deputies also claim that “the PSD policy on education has proved, as always, a standard case of fall in public credibility and this motion, filed by PNL, shortly after the investment of the new puppet government of PSD chairman, Liviu Dragnea, aims at marking the end of the line for the series of bad experiments in education, branded PSDragnea.”

If the simple motion is approved, this does not mean the targeted minister will be dismissed.
