The National Liberal Party (PNL) calls for a parliamentary hearing of Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu in relation to emergency ordinances 6 and 9 as well as for the urgent debate and rejection of these two documents, the party’s interim president Raluca Turcan said on Monday.
“We decided on hearing in Parliament Prime Minister Grindeanu about the two economic ordinances – Ordinance 6 and Ordinance 9 as serious as Emergency Ordinance 13, but with economic impact. Unfortunately, we overlooked a government decision that transforms the state budget into a budget for political clientele and we believe it is mandatory that Prime Grindeanu answers to lawmakers on this arbitrariness of public spending by the two orders. (…) We submitted to the permanent Chamber of Deputies Standing Bureau the request for hearing PM Grindeanu (on March 6), at the ‘Prime Minister’s hour’,” Turcan said in Parliament, after the National Political Bureau meeting.
In her opinion, this ordinance turns local authorities into ‘PSD vassals’ because RON 30 billion of public money may be taken out at any time without limit and without penalties, which means “the local authorities’ dependence on the Regional Development Minister’s will.”
“So basically the money will add to the budget deficit within a few years and in addition any sanction was excluded for the use of this money over certain thresholds and from one chapter to another, which means arbitrary decisions. It is unacceptable that RON 30 billion is used in a discretionary manner by the current government,” the Liberal leader says.
Turcan said that PNL called for debate in the Senate of the emergency ordinances 6 and 9 and reject them.
“For the time being, our information shows that the two economic ordinances have not made any nasty effects so far and therefore the Parliament can correct this huge mistake of abuse made by the Grindeanu government,” said the Liberal leader.
