The Liberals will begin next week the procedures to revoke from office Ombudsman Victor Ciorbea (photo), PNL interim president Raluca Turcan has announced on Thursday.

“We have decided to start the steps for removal from office of Ombudsman. Mr. Victor Ciorbea does not abide the law ruling the Ombudsman institution,” Raluca Turcan said, informs, quoting

“Mr. Victor Ciorbea has politicized this institution and behaved as a vassal of PSD, as a humble executant for meeting the PSD interests. We will request the start of revocation proceedings and that the position of Ombudsman is taken over by a professional person of moral integrity, a person who respects the people first.”

As reasons for Ciorbea’s dismissal, Turcan mentioned the lack of response to the ordinance regarding the migration of mayors and for challenging the law prohibiting convicted persons to be members of the Government to the Constitutional Court.
