PNL has significantly climbed in polls in the last month of 2019, meaning after they came to power following censure motion that toppled down the SocDem Cabinet led by Viorica Dancila. According to a recent IMAS poll, Liberals are credited to 45% of the Romanians’ voting intentions, as against 39% in November 2019. The IMAS polls has been commissioned by Europa FM.
PSD ranks second with 18.5%, down compared to November, when it was credited to 21.3%.
USR is also on decline – 11.5% as against 12.6% in November. USR’s alliance partners, PLUS, are also down in polls-3.5% compared to 5.6% in November last year.
Among other parliamentary parties, only Pro Romania (6.4%) and UDMR (5%) would reach the threshold to enter Parliament at the 2020 elections. ALDE and PMP would fail to obtain seats in Parliament.
The poll was conducted during December 4-18, 2019 on 1,011 respondents aged over 18.
