PNL’s Orban calls on ruling coalition leaders to submit the state budget for 2019, to summon Parliament in extraordinary session

PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban has called on Thursday on the PSD and ALDE leaders, Liviu Dragnea and Calin Popescu Tariceanu, as well as on Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, in an open letter, to launch for public debate the draft state budget for 2019 and to summon the Parliament in extraordinary session to adopt the bill.

“I request you to urgently put on public debate the draft state budget for 2019 and to immediately summon an extraordinary session of the Parliament to adopt the state budget. Out of your incompetence, 2019 starts bad for Romanians. The activity of the main state institutions and local authorities is negatively affected by the lack of a state budget. You have violated the legal obligation to submit to Parliament the draft bill of the state budget and the draft social security budget until November 15, 2018. It is unacceptable that Romania starts 2019 without an approved budget, without a clear forecast on budget revenues and expenses and without a legal basis to establish the spending of public money,” the open letter reads.

Ludovic Orban argues that due to the lack of the state budget, the main blow is received by the companies, which do not know what new taxes and excise duties to expect and cannot draw up the business plans for this year.
