President Iohannis: Act of justice is questioned by those who have to answer before the law
President Klaus Iohannis has told young magistrates on Tuesday that they’ve chosen their profession “at a time when the act of justice is publicly questioned by those who have to answer before the law.”
“You have chosen a profession which, more than any other, is closely connected to the state’s democratic path,” Iohannis said at Cotroceni Palace.
Iohannis added that for a nation aiming a worthy future, the law and independence of those serving justice are non-negotiable. “The magistrates are the pillars which do not allow the generation to get wasted in continuous and futile re-beginnings.”
The head of state welcomed at the palace the young graduates of the National Magistracy Institute. The event was attended by Justice Minister Tudorel Toader, the Constitutional Court Chairman Valer Dorneanu, Prosecutor General Augustin Lazar, Superior Council of Magistracy chief Simona Marcu and by Cristina Tercea, Chairman of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ – Supreme Court).
