President Iohannis will attend Saber Guardian 17 at the Cincu shooting range in Brasov County on Saturday, the President’s spokeswoman Madalina Dobrovolschi announced on Tuesday.
“On Saturday, the president will attend the multinational military exercise Saber Guardian 17 at the Cincu shooting range in Brasov County (…) This military exercise is based on a fictional collective defence script,” said Dobrovolschi.
Klaus Iohannis will previously visit the military base at Mihail Kogalniceanu in Constanta county, where he will meet Romanian and British pilots and the president of the NATO military committee, general Petr Pavel.
Four Eurofighter Typhoon aircrafts are in Romania until August. At the same time, 150 pilots and technical staff are deployed for the air police mission in the south area of NATO eastern flank.
Visit to HarCov
The president’s spokesperson also informed the Klaus Iohannis will go o a visit to Harghita and Covasna counties (the so-called HarCov land) on July 18.
The President will take part in a debate with the local authorities, meant to identify the problems of the region. According to Dobrovolschi, 300 local officials and representatives of the county institutions will attend the debate.
Therefore, the head of sate will visit the Sumuleu Ciuc monastic complex and the mineral water factory Perla Harghitei.
