President Iohannis invited at EPP summit

President Klaus Iohannis was invited by the European People’s Party president, Joseph Daul to attend the EPP summit in Brussels on February 12, ahead the informal meeting of the European Council due on the same day.

The European Commission president, Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council president, Donald Tusk are also expected to attend the EPP summit.

Klaus Iohannis is among 11 EU leaders invited, next to Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy, Polish PM Ewa Kopacz, Bulgarian premier Boyko Borissov, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban, Latvian PM Laimdota Straujuma, Irish PM Enda Kenny, Finland’s premier Alexander Stubb, Portugal’ s Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho and Cyprus’ president Nicos Anastasiades.

Iohannis will embark on an extended external visit to Paris and Berlin starting February 10 that is due to end on February 12 with the European Council’s attending in Brussels.
