President Iohannis meets OMV Petrom delegation led by CEO of OMV, Rainer Seele

President Klaus Iohannis has received on Tuesday, at Cotroceni Palace, an OMV-Petrom delegation led by CEO of OMV AG Group, Rainer Seele, a presidency release informs.

During the talks, the OMV AG management presented the company’s development strategy, including the increase of Petrom internationalisation, in view of capitalizing the current opportunities in the region, as well as an important increase of investments as of this year.

“The CEO of OMV has stressed altogether the need for predictability of the fiscal and legal framework, which should support the companies’ accomplishments and the development of a stable and competitive business environment,” the presidency release reads.

The source reads that the partnership between OMV-Petrom and Exxon-Mobile to develop the Neptun Deep block is of major interest both for the Romanian state and for the investors.

“The Romanian President has reiterated the importance of infrastructure in the energy field for increasing the energy security nationwide and regionally,” the Presidency informs.

In this respect, it is mentioned that the state of the works on the transport infrastructure offers good prospects for ensuring a functional transport capacity at the beginning of exploitations of resources in the Black Sea.

President Klaus Iohannis has also expressed his conviction that OMV-Petrom will continue to record outstanding results in terms of economic achievements, through the Romanian expertise in the exploration and exploitation of natural gas and oil resources.

“The meeting was a good opportunity to underline the importance of an open dialogue between OMV and the Romanian state, in order to capitalize on the potential of our country in the energy field,” the press release reads.
