President Iohannis tops confidence chart, poll shows
President Klaus Iohannis tops the Romanians’ confidence chart, while the governor of the Romania’s National Bank, Mugur Isarescu ranks second, and the Romanian ambassador to U.S., George Maior ranks third, according to the INSCOP poll commissioned by Adevarul daily and conducted during July 9-14.
Yet, the survey shows the Romanian President is on a decreasing trend, as 61.6 percent of the respondents stated they trust Klaus Iohannis “much and very much”, compared to 65 percent in April. Mugur Isarescu is trusted by 42.8 percent of the respondents (40.1 pc in April) and George Maior by 27.6 pc (24.8 pc in April).
PM Victor Ponta ranks fourth in the confidence chart, gathering 21.7 percent of the confidence options (also downward compared to April when he got 24.4 percent).
Bucharest General Mayor comes fifth, with 21.6 pc and Mihai Razvan Ungureanu with 19.7 pc.
For the first time vice-premier Gabriel Oprea is included in the INSCOP-Adevarul barometer, gathering 17.4 percent of the votes, and Labour minister Rovana Plumb with 11.2 pc.
The most spectacular decrease is experienced by the Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu, which is down at 6 percent in July compared to 17.1 pc in April.
