President Iohannis undergoes surgery on right shoulder

President Klaus Iohannis was hospitalized on Tuesday at the ‘Dr. Carol Davila’ University Emergency Hospital and underwent surgical intervention on the right shoulder, the Presidential Administration informs.

According to an official press release released by the Presidential Administration, the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis was hospitalized on Tuesday, April 26, at the University Military Emergency Hospital and underwent surgery on the right shoulder.

“The surgery passed off in the best conditions, with respecting all procedures. Romania’s President’s health condition is very good, being medically apt to fulfill his presidential duties,” reads the Presidency’s press release.

Later on, President Iohannis posted a message on Facebook, informing that he is well after the surgery. “Today I underwent a surgical intervention at my right shoulder. The surgery was successful, I am feeling fine and tomorrow I’ll resume my activity at the Cotroceni Palace. I appreciate the work of the doctors’ team and I thank the entire staff of the “Dr. Carol Davila” Central Military Hospital,” reads the president’s post.

The hospital’s representatives also announced that President Iohannis’ surgery had been successful and his condition was very good.

“On April 26, President Klaus Iohannis has been admitted and operated at the Central Military Hospital, “Dr. Carol Davil”, on his right shoulder for a right subacromial impingement syndrome, right subacromial bursitis, supraspinatis tendonitis lesion. The intervention was done by arthroscopy, passed off in optimum conditions and the Romanian President’s condition is very good at present,” the hospital told a press release.
