President reacts on anti-PSD protesters’ being arrested

President Klaus Iohannis has commented the incident in Topoloveni when tens of anti-PSD protesters have been taken by gendarmes to the police, arguing that it is revolting that in 2019 people who are discontent with a politicians are taken into custody by the riot police.

It’s revolting that in 2019, people who are discontent with a politicians, are taken by gendarmes. I think we have here the image of Dragnea’s Romania. Anyone who is against him will be arrested! The images from Topoloveni are a living proof. Some people angry with Dragnea went to stage a peaceful protest and have been seized by gendarmes,” Iohannis said.

He underlined this is „incredible and unimaginable”, adding that this is „a strong argument to go to vote, in order to give a retort to this failed government and ruling”.

Several protesters waiting for PSD leader Liviu Dragnea in Topoloveni town in Arges county have been taken by gendarmes to the police precinct for introducing themselves.
