Liviu Dragnea, the chairman of the Social Democrat Party (PSD) was again admitted to hospital on Saturday night for a few hours, to undergo some special procedures for his back pains, the party secretary general Codrin Stefanescu announced. He said that option to have “seepage” for his spinal cord is not the best one and that Dragnea might resort to surgery after all.

Stefanescu explained the doctors recommended him surgery. He also added that Dragnea really wants to attend the PSD’s Monday sitting, when the list of candidates for the European elections is decided.

PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea was first hospitalized last Saturday when he complained of back pains while attending the internal elections of the PSD Ilfov organisation. He interrupted his press conference and asked for the doctors’ help.

Criticism has followed after information pointed that Dragnea chose to be admitted in a private hospital, and not in a state one.

Vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies, Florin Iordache then explained that there is no difference between how patients are treated in a state or in a private hospital, adding that “it’s no big deal” that the PSD leader was admitted to a private clinic, as it was “the nearest hospital” in the area at that moment.

Tell that to all non-elites asked to cough up bribes to greedy doctors.
