PSD Senator Niculae Bădălău said on Wednesday that a criminal complaint against President Klaus Iohannis is not excluded, if he does not comply with the decision of the Constitutional Court to revoke DNA chief prosecutor Laura Codruţa Kovesi.
“Absolutely everyone has to observe the law. I believe the next step is a notification from the Ministry of Justice to implement that decision. The President is Romanian and is representing an institution that must observe the law, as all institutions must. If not implemented, someone has to notify the representative of the institution. The President is not King Carol, Ferdinand, and he has to implement the decision,” PSD Senator Niculae Bădălău said.
He also said that a criminal complaint is not excluded.
“Surely, yes. If you do not implement a final court ruling, which is the next step? Anyone in this country must observe the law, absolutely no matter of his position. I do not give a deadline to the president, he will find a deadline to apply it. He said that he still needs some time to have a clear view on the content. Since the decision was published by the Official Gazette, it produces legal effects,” Bădălău said.
