PSD’s Florin Iordache: What if we would decriminalize the abuse of office by emergency ordinance?
Chamber of Deputies deputy speaker Florin Iordache, former Justice Minister, said on Friday an emergency ordinance on amending the Criminal Codes should be adopted as soon as possible, in order to eliminate the non-uniform practice.
“I believe that, the sooner such an emergency ordinance is issued, the better will eliminate the chaos in courts. Some people are sentenced by certain courts, but for the same deed another court acquits him. In order to eliminate such non-unitary practice, I believe that the sooner it is issued, the better,” Florin Iordache said.
He argues that the abuse of office has led to too much passion.
“The abuse of office has led to too much passion. But, if we are the ones to decriminalize the abuse of office by emergency ordinance, what do you think it will happen? It would be very good. Decriminalization would be a solution, because the abuse of office has led to too much passion and too many disputes. Let’s see the Constitutional Court’s reasoning next Wednesday and, as far as I know, it would offer the lawmakers the possibility to eliminate this offense,” Iordache added.
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced on Monday that the PSD Executive Committee unanimously decided on the issue of an emergency ordinance regarding the Criminal Codes.
